Who We Are?

The Usadians is a dynamic group of like-minded Saskatoon business leaders who come together to nurture the power of Saskatoon’s entrepreneurial spirit. We network, learn about each others businesses, share leads, and support each other.

Our members meet on Fridays from September to June. We host accomplished speakers from different industries to enrich the knowledge and the network of our members.

We have an annual Christmas party and an annual golf tournament that are open to members and guests.

Our History

The Start

The Usadians was formed in Saskatoon in 1933 at a meeting room in the King George Hotel. The first President was Norman Couch who originally worked for the McDonald Tobacco Company and later as the manager of the Saskatoon Arena.

The Usadian

The name “Usadian” originated from joining the designation “USA” and “Canadian”. The name Usadian was used in both Canada and the United States. The purpose of the name was to affiliate the Executive Associations of all major cities in Canada and the US under the same name.

The Tribute

While the Executive Associations are no longer affiliated, and the separate associations have adopted different names, Saskatoon executives elected to keep the original name in tribute to our Saskatoon founder.

Our Purpose

We are a non-profit comprised of members representing different industries (categories) of business. Only one membership is allowed for each category, so the Usadian member is the sole representative of a category to the members.

Members are business owners or executives that are decision makers in their businesses. They are leaders that are held in high esteem in the City of Saskatoon and in their category.

The purpose of the Usadians is for members to network, share business leads, and support one another’s businesses.

The Usadians offers a number of social gatherings to the membership each year.
